How to create a CNAME record
In this article, you can learn how to create CNAME records in cPanel and WHM. CNAME records are a type of DNS record that is used to route the hostname to another location.
Steps to add a CNAME record in cPanel:
Step 1: Log in to your cPanel account
Step 2: Go to the Domains section and select an icon. Click Advanced Zone Editor.
Step 3: In the drop-down list, select the domain to which you want to change domain names.
Step 4: The Type drop down menu is CNAME.
Step 5: Fill empty fields for description options as needed.
Step 6: Click the Add Record icon.
A message will then appear "Add the record successfully"
Steps to Add a CNAME Record in WHM:
Step 1: Log in to your WHM account.
Step 2: Through the DNS Functions section, select the Edit DNS Zone link.
Step 3: From the menu, select the range to create the CNAME for, and then click Edit.
Step 4: From the "Add new entries" section, click on the drop-down menu and select CNAME.
Step 5: Fill in the blank fields In the CNAME box, enter your CNAME.
Step 6: Enter the hostname.
Step 7: Click the Save icon.
